I broke my arm the other day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We were coming to the end of our fantastic family holiday in Thailand, I took a big old tumble, and next thing I knew, I was in a hole, there was a deep gash down my leg and my arm was broken<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite this absolutely not being the way anyone would choose to end their holiday, I\u2019m thankful for several things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. My family were with me<\/strong>, which meant that they could \u2013 quite literally \u2013 help me out of the hole<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. The doctors who helped me in Thailand were great.<\/strong> They patched me up, gave me 10 stitches in my leg and a temporary cast on my arm, which meant I could fly home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once I arrived home, I headed straight to A&E, and as you\u2019d expect, was treated to a variety of checks and X-rays, as well as the alarming sight of three different orthopaedic doctors coming to see me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Turns out it wasn\u2019t a \u201cnormal\u201d fracture, and complex surgery was needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I had the operation on Monday, and I\u2019m pleased to say that it went well, but as you can expect, it\u2019s likely to have quite an impact on the day job for a while! <\/p>\n\n\n\n A broken arm is a dentist\u2019s worst nightmare, and practically speaking, it means no clinic dentistry for me for around two months, with a longer period until I\u2019m up to full working capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And that\u2019s where the third thing I\u2019m thankful for comes in \u2013 the fantastic team we have here at Brightside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Over the years, we\u2019ve grown a highly skilled team, and I know that they\u2019ll continue to keep things running smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For patients who see me or are part way through treatment, please rest assured that your treatment will continue seamlessly \u2013 all our dentists are highly skilled and competent, and we\u2019ll make sure you\u2019re booked with someone best placed for your needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019ll keep you updated on my recuperation \u2013 any tips from anyone who\u2019s been through something like this before gratefully received!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ketan<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I broke my arm the other day.
