How a Dental Bridge Can Restore Your Smile | Brightside Dental\" width=\"660\" height=\"371\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GshwKuUTzaY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re winging our way through February, but before the mad March hare pops up, it\u2019s time for another smile transformation, and February\u2019s is one we\u2019re especially proud of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When your mouth just doesn\u2019t feel right.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The smile hero this time is a lovely man called James.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>James came to Brightside looking for a long-term solution to a missing front tooth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\u2019d previously been given a removable denture elsewhere, and while it filled the gap, he didn\u2019t get on with it very well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The denture could be uncomfortable, unreliable when talking or eating, and most importantly, it didn\u2019t give him the confidence to smile freely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He wanted something secure, natural, and fixed in place, and something he didn\u2019t have to remove it each day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brightsidedental.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/2-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brightsidedental.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2894\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brightsidedental.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/2-1.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.brightsidedental.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/2-1-260x300.jpg 260w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessment first, then action<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a thorough consultation and assessment with Dr Paarth Darbar, we talked through every possible option, including keeping the denture, a fixed bridge, a dental implant, or a resin-retained bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking into account the health of the neighbouring teeth and James\u2019s wish to keep things as simple and minimally invasive as possible, a resin-retained bridge was chosen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bridges aren\u2019t as well known as dentures or implants, but in the right circumstances, they can be very effective &#8211; the replacement tooth is bonded discreetly to the back of an adjacent tooth, meaning no drilling away healthy tooth structure. There was no movement, no awkwardness when speaking, no concern while eating; James noticed the difference immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Five years on, the bridge is still working beautifully.
