Beginnings and goodbyes
May is flashing past, and there’s plenty to update you on.
And it’s with a heavy heart that I kick that off with a farewell to Simona – our wonderful lead dental nurse.
Simona is getting married and moving back to Romania, and we will miss her very much. Ever since she joined us back in 2018, she’s been an integral part of the team, and we’re very grateful to her for nearly seven years’ service. Thank you, Simona – please stay in touch!

Simona’s departure does provide opportunity for others cutting their teeth and making their way in our industry though, and I’m delighted to welcome not one but two trainee dental nurses to the team, and I’ll let them introduce themselves:
First up, Lirta:
I began my dental career as a Trainee Dental Nurse in March 2024.
I’m proud to be part of a friendly, experienced team at a practice that values patient care, professionalism, and teamwork!
From day one, I’ve felt welcomed and supported, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow in such a positive environment.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, going for walks, spending time with family and cooking
Taking time to relax and do what I love helps me stay balanced and bring my best self to the clinic each day.

And next, Amanda:
“I joined Brightside Dental as a Trainee Dental Nurse in April.
I’m passionate about patient care and excited to be part of a team that prioritises comfort and compassion. Every day is a new opportunity to learn and grow, and I’m committed to supporting our patients on their journey to better oral health.
Outside of work, I love travelling, going to music festivals, and spending time with my (slightly spoiled) cat. I’m excited to keep growing in my role and bring a little extra sunshine to our patients’ smiles!”

To complete the hat-trick, we also have a brand new marketing and administrative assistant, Phoebe:
“I joined Brightside Dental in 2025 and have since taken on a combined role in social media marketing and administration, which gives me the perfect balance between supporting patients and expressing my creative side.
What initially drew me to dentistry was the opportunity to help people feel informed, supported and more confident about their oral health. I am especially passionate about helping nervous patients feel at ease and encouraging them not to overlook the importance of regular dental care. With social media playing such a big role in how we connect today, I enjoy using it to share the day-to-day life at Brightside and to highlight the value of good oral health in a relatable, engaging way.
Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym, photography and cooking. I love trying new recipes and getting creative in the kitchen whenever I can.”

I’m sure you’ll give Lirta, Amanda and Phoebe a great welcome when you see them in the practice, and I’m excited to see them flourish in the months and years to come.

Elsewhere this month, dental nurse Lana was voted “Team Member of the Quarter”, which is well deserved – Lana has been a key part of the team for eight years now, and works tirelessly to support our team and deliver for our patients.

There’s another celebration to commemorate too – our brilliant dental nurse Elif has now been with us for two years. They’ve absolutely flown by, and Elif has become a key part of what we do – thanks Elif!!

And finally, it’s not been all work this month: we managed to find time for a lovely team dinner at Hakassan in Mayfair, which is a just reward for the incredible dedication team Brightside show, day in, day out.
Catch you next week!
