Smile of the Month: deep dental fear to stunningly straight smile
May’s Smile of the Month makes me feel exceptionally proud, because in one patient’s journey, the entire Brightside ethos shines brightly.
As you’ll likely know, we have a long history in working with nervous patients, and Hamit was no exception – he really had a very deep fear indeed.
But it was “needs must” – he was in pain, and he needed a wisdom tooth extraction.
Hamit showed real courage to come to us and seek help, and that first visit went a lot better than he’d feared – we are the home of calm, gently and pain-free dentistry after all!
Inspired by overcoming his fear, Hamit felt confident and comfortable enough to return and truly take charge of his oral health.
I had the privilege of conducting an initial comprehensive assessment with him, and together we set out a treatment plan that would take him where he wanted to go.

Step one was to get his teeth and his gums healthy again, and thanks to our expertise and Hamit’s diligent oral hygiene routine, this was achieved. First step, complete.
Next up, Hamit was keen to straighten his teeth and achieve a more aesthetic and symmetrical smile, and together we agreed on Invisalign teeth straightening to achieve this.
Not only did this result in the stunning smile he was after, but straighter teeth make cleaning a lot easier, which will allow Hamit to keep his mouth healthy for years to come.

18 months on from being scared to step through the door, Hamit’s smile has been transformed, and he’s fully committed to maintaining his results, continuing with regular checkups and hygiene treatments to ensure that the hard work doesn’t go to waste.
We’re hugely proud of Hamit, and also of our team – these are the kinds of stories that got us into dentistry in the first place, and it really is rewarding to see our approach bear fruit in such a special way.

Do you know someone who’s been putting off visiting the dentist? If so, please consider passing our details on – we’re here to help them, whoever and wherever they’re at.
